To most Filipinas, he is a white guy from the Western world with pale skin, exotic coloured eyes, and a straight nose. He is also loving, trustworthy, polite, and not prone to domestic violence. He has the financial means to provide the basic necessities of a life on a regular and ongoing basis. That’s right: he is the great white saviour.
