They will seldom fully commit themselves emotionally, especially in the early part of a relationship and often still maintain that attitude several years in. It will be weird & confusing to the average foreigner, because she'll be doing everything like the perfect wife, but she won't be 'all-in'. And if you think about it, it makes sense because she doesn't even know you fully. Another reason for this is cultural because almost all Filipino mothers teach this mind-set to their daughters to some degree. It goes something like this: “don’t give out 100% of your love, but keep some for yourself when things go bad”. It is like a saying: but since I don’t speak Tagalog or Visayas, I can’t say it: but if you ask your g/f or wife, she will know exactly what you are talking about. (She’ll pretend not to know, but she definitely knows).
