Why do foreigners think that Filipinas are beautiful, but, as a Filipino, I don’t?

Oh, it is easy. From the point of view of sheer physical appearance: -Light to medium-light frame. Slender bodies, sometimes a bit curvier. Wonderful. -High cheekbones, slightly slanted eyes, straight dark hair. Very exotic. -Complexion ranges from very pale (personally I don’t like it too much) to quite dark (I love it). Intermediate tones can be also attractive. Extremely soft skin in all cases, in my experience. -Surprisingly beautiful and well-shaped legs in many, many cases. -Natural sense of elegance in dressing. Very femenine. Predominance of good taste among women in dressing code and personal toilette. Fantastic. -Slightly low walking centre of gravity, that makes their walking steps very particular and sexy. It is like soft walking. -Beautiful voices. Usually, as an observation, beautiful teeth. From the perspective of personality: -Soft-mannered (with regrettable exceptions); mellow. -Family and/or couple life oriented; -Hardworking, practical, patient with the setbacks of life; -Quite honest in general. NOTE: of course there are plenty women there that do not fall into this rosy description: naggers, golddiggers, etc., but as an observation and JUST BASED ON MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, there is an unusually high number of ladies that could fit into the above described portrait. In my opinion, and after having travelled and lived abroad for years, the only place where women can beat Filipino ladies is Indonesia. Indonesian ladies are pretty similar physically to filipinas, but they’re even more exotic in dressing and have a more direct, straight-to-the-point personality. I love them. In my personal ranking, Indonesian women are number one in the World, and Filipino ladies are number two by a relatively narrow margin.

I'm mestiza (half-white) and foreign men especially white men never found me attractive even though I was attracted to them. I am 5′7″ (too tall even for my 6′1″ boyfriend) pale skin and bigger than the average Filipina girl. I met my caucasian partner here in the US fortunately. I think a lot of foreign men who go to the Philippines expect to meet someone the complete opposite of that they are used to seeing in their home countries. To them Filipinas are exotic and my beauty was too familiar to them. The poverty in the Philippines attracts unsavory people who come in for the sole purpose of exploiting people. I used to see this all the time and it saddened me because Filipinos are the kindest people I know. Foreign men thought I was too opinionated for my own good, I had a more western perspective which made them think I wasn't easy vulnerable prey. Not all foreign men are like this but I grew up in the Philippines for 18 years and this was a common theme. On the other had Filipino men loved my caucasian features even the women loved my pale skin, height and wavy hair. I think Filipinos need to learn to love themselves and not give in to the western beauty standards. Beauty is the eye of the colonizer and the Philippines is way to familiar with this.
