Let’s see! AUD$100,000 as of today is roughly P3.7 million pesos. Consider that most of the country subsists on less than P500 a day (that’s our minimum wage) you could theoretically live in the Philippines almost indefinitely. Theoretically. The government pegs the average middle class household’s income at around P100k-P150k a month. If you’re single, that money goes a long way. Using your figure of AUD$100K, that’ll buy you maybe 2–4 years in Metro Manila, depending how cushy you want your life to be. You can get a decent sized apartment in a good location, dine out in nice restaurants, and you’ll be able travel around the country every so often, more so if choose to bus it or take the ferry rather than fly, and opting for more affordable resorts. Metro Manila is by far the priciest place to live, so if you want your money to go further, you might want to consider living in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, or Davao. These are major cities that offer roughly the same amenities as the capital, but the cost of living is substantially lower. If you move out to the province, the cost of living drops considerably. You could potentially lease a hectare of land for 25 years for just P150,000. What you do with the rest of your money is up to you. For the reasons mentioned above, the Philippines has become an attractive option for foreigners looking to retire. The law forbids you to own land, but you can secure a long-term lease for relatively cheap, particularly in areas that aren’t too developed. It could be somewhere up in the mountains or on a tropical island. Ever dream of having a slice of paradise on a beautiful stretch of beach? You can do that here. So where the bloody hell are ya?

100 australian dollars? That’s way too much dude, you can become a millionare. Maybe it will last you 5 years if you’re careful but families in philippines will suck the life out of you so be careful. Learn to Say NO! If you want to sustain that amount i would invest it and live off the investments, like buying resorts that kind of stuff.
