That depends on the hospital you visit and the area you are in. If you visit a private hospital it will be much more expensive than when you visit a rural clinic where it might be on donation base. I remember visiting a clinic in Puerto Galera where I had a routine check-up and it was on donation base, the blood work I had to pay directly to the laboratory and was a few dollars. But when I went to a university hospital in Dumaguete the bill was a bit more…ehe, mature…still very affordable but higher. And when I would have gone to Tagbilaran or Cebu City to the Chinese private hospital there, I know it would have been much more expensive. So it depends. But you will be surprised that even when it is expensive it is far more cheaper than in a first world country. The bills are paid in different ways, usually you get a quote upfront, you can negotiate a little, leave things out or add things. And you pay per department, so lab work you pay at the lab, X-rays you pay at the cashier and get a receipt which you show at the X-ray person then they will take an X-ray, same with scans. Bandages, needles and such you have to pay at the cashier, and usually they ask you to make a downpayment up front. It is very time consuming and waiting times can be considered. So make sure you are in a good mood, well rested and bring plenty of small cash notes to pay all over the place. And bring a book or some music to pass the time. On my website (link in my bio) I wrote a few articles about medical procedures in the Philippines and the prices involved. Feel free to check them out. there is a search option in the sidebar.

Usual consultation for GP practicing in a private hospital is PhP500 (USD9.62). Specialist charge double especially if he has his own clinic. Public hospital charge half of what the private asks. Celebrity doctors can charge ten times of what private charges. X-ray around PhP350. CT Scan around PhP4,000. MRI scan around PhP9,000. A week prescription for viral flu can easily fetch PhP3,000. More for STDs. Casting can range from PhP5,000 to PhP20,000 depending on the fracture. Oral propylaxis cost the same with GP practitioner. Tooth extraction can cost PhP600 per tooth. Hospital Room can range PhP1,000 for semi-private ward, PhP2,000 for private ward and less than PhP500 for public ward per day with meals included. I hope this help.
