I haven’t gotten around much of the Philippines to be honest. But one city I lived in and was really amazed of it’s cleanliness is Marikina city. Even after it gets flooded (most of it’s barangays) only just a few days later, most of the streets are clean. And almost everyday just like here in Singapore, there are street sweepers who diligently clean. If only Marikina is not sitting on a fault line and traffic jam isn’t horrendous to and fro, it would be an ideal place to live in Metro Manila area.

I visited Laoag City six years ago in 2013, and I remember not only was the city the cleanest in the Philippines (in my opinion), it was also a city without any beggar at sight (at least I didn’t see one during my one week stay there).
